Paroled soldiers leave of indulgence [manuscript], 1865 March 9.

A paroled soldiers leave of indulgence (Special Orders 101.) A preprinted form for the granting of leaves of absence to paroled prisoners after which they are to report to the Camp of Paroled Prisoners in Richmond by order of Lt. Gen R. S. Ewell. The form has been filled in with the name H. Rosenbaum of Co. D, 45th [Virginia?] Infantry who was paid $179 for 12 months from Dec. 31, 1863, signed J. S. Duckwall, Captain and Asst. Quartermaster. Beneath is written "Camp Lee Mch 12/65 rations corn for twenty days. fifty dolls. D. G. Meade Capt & [?]." The entire document bears the signature of James West Pegram, Jr., Ewell's Asst. Adjt. General. The document is overstamped with stamp of the Richmond Quartermaster indicating that transportaton was furnished. The verso contains a docket that rations in kind for two days were ordered and issued.
